May Favorites!

This month has been quite a whirlwind; my skin has been acting up, I’ve been sick and its been so crapy outside that I just don’t feel like doing absolutely anything! I’ve kept everything minimal this month and just healthy and light.

For foundation, I went back to my first foundation that helped my skin Neutrogena SkinClearing Liquid foundation in Nude. First foundation ever used and first to not make my skin act up. Its not heavy at all and have an average coverage. I know its not the best one out there in the world but I just trust it since I’ve used it before.

Another product that I’ve been reaching out to is the NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Sponge Cake. Its a nude gloss with a little bit of pink and has shimmer. Perfect to use everyday. Its not sticky on the lips and it smells absolutely amazing! Never thought a lip gloss can smell and taste so good!

Hair product I’ve been using a little sample bottle of Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle that I got from May’s Birchbox. Its a small leave in conditioner, similar to the Its a 10! Miracle Leave in Product. I like it a lot because being in Florida, my hair gets really frizzy and knotty so I’ve been just praying this after towel drying my hair. What I love about it is that it doesn't leave my hair greasy or heavy and it smells like coconuts!

Lastly, I’ve been loving the Ponds Evening Sooth Wet Cleansing Towelettes. Its wipes that removes most, if not all, makeup that I’m wearing but is also very gentle. It makes cleansing much easier and quicker than before. It has Chamomile extract which helps sooth and calm any irritated skin or skin problems, so that’s a plus!

Also, I decided to include this into this blog because I have been using it a lot and has help me so much. At the beginning of the month I decided to do a detox of my body because i was just not feeling the best and everything was irritating my skin and my stomach. I’ve been drinking about 2 tbsp of Aloe Tree Concentrate with a glass of water everytime I want water or anytime I’m eating with something for 3 days out of the week. Its a 16 fl oz bottle that you can choose from any brands on the supermarket and it works wonders. Firstly, Aloe plant helps heal any scars or bumps or injuries that the skin is involved in. It dries it and works like magic and helps prevent any scarring! But I’ve been drinking it and it has helped me not only with my skin and my stomach but my entire self being! I feel light and healthy and finally just comfortable again :) If you can, go to the nearest supermarket store and see if they have aloe water or aloe concentrate and give it a go. The taste is not THE best but you get used to it after a while. Let me just finish by saying that I’m no doctor to tell you what you need to take or not. But its something that has helped me and maybe this could help.

So there it is. those are all my May Favorites. I am still freaking shocked that may is over and we are in june. CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW THE HELL TIME IS FLYING BY SO FREAKING FAST!?

Review: L'Oreal Studio Secrets Magic BB Cream

Retails at Target for $15.98
Going into Target is probably the worst place for my wallet. Ever. Snooping around the cosmetics department "just to look" (honestly, that just never happens) and this caught my attention. Its the L'Oreal Magic BB Cream in the color light. I've heard of other BB creams from other brands but what caught my attention was that there are only 4 shades.
First Impression: when I applied some on my hand, I was a little confused because it came out white with purple little microbeads. As I kept on smoothing it out, it slowly started turning in to a light nude color and finally completely blended in with my skin.
Pros: It does what it says; its a perfect consistency to use as a primer for combination skin types. Also helps corrects and adds a bit of glow to the face. If you don't have much problem with your skin, this is great to use alone on a daily basis; its very light and with time doesn't make the skin oily.
Cons: When I was applying it to my face, it does attach itself to dry patches around my hairline and around my temples. Also, when applying with bare hands, I really had to blended around any part of my face that had hair (mostly my eyebrows and hairline) because that is where it mostly stayed and was really noticeable.
Overall: I really like this as a primer. Though it says it hydrates the skin, its better when I moisturize my skin and then use it. Its very lightweight and its easy to use. Its great if your on the go and in need of something quick or you just want a little bit more coverage without using so many products on your face.

Hope you guys had a lovely weekend! :-)

L'Oreal's Magic BB Cream was chosen out of wam; still trying it so a blog post will soon come of that. My Lauren Conrad book also arrived this week! Its probably the best book I can think of to start reading if you have not much knowledge of makeup and how to use it. Hope you lovely people had a good weekend :)

April Favsss!

Late, I know but here it is My April Favorites! This month has been one hell of a trip; stressful, really exhausting and exciting. You guys might have known by my previous post, but exams were hard and stressful and really took a toll on my skin. So I've kept everything simple and light.

This is probably my all time favourite scrub of all time. Its a sea salt scrub with mimosa that leaves my skin smooth like a baby's bottom. Its so to rough on my skin and actually helps sooth any discomfort on my skin. Also perfect to use before shaving!
I really like to pair this one with Rub Rub Rub because it helps moisturize the skin a bit more. Its smells like mandarin and slides on to the skin really easily. After pat drying my skin, I barely have to put on moisturizer because this literally does the job for me.

This mascara is very different from any other ones I've own. First its a gel like texture that holds in place. It definitely gives my lashes volume and the is so easy to guide. Love it!
L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hr Eye Shadow
I made a post about this eyeshadow that I've fallen head over heels this month. Go check it out here!

Rimmel' Soft Kohl Eye Pencil in Brown
Its a really soft eye pencil that does not bother my eyes. Its really pigmented and its really easy to smug it on the eyes. Since its pigmented, it may be a little difficult to remove with just water and a cloth.
Covergirl LipPerfection Lipsticks
When I bought this, I was really surprised that the color that it shows at the bottom was not the real color that displayed on my lips. Though I was unsure, I just ended up liking it even more and its perfect for the spring time. It moisturizes and it stays on for a good couple of hours before you actually has to reapply more.

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation
I absolutely love this foundation for daytime. Its similar to a BB cream but it glides on smoothly. Surprisingly they have a variation of shades and it was really easy to find the right one for me. Very sheer but perfect for an everyday foundation.

So there you have it, my April Favorites! I am still in shock that April is over and we're already in May.  See ya later alligators ;)

xoxo R.
