June Favorites

Another month has passed, another monthly favorites post! I am in utter shock that were half way through the year O.O Anyways, here are the items I've loved using throughout this month!

If you cant tell from previous posts, I am obsessed with cream eyeshadows. They are so easy to use and take no time! I've been loving MAC's Paint Pot in Constructivist and Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze and Pomegranate Punk. They go on smooth and stay put once they dry. Xtreme Lashes in Xpresso has been my all time favorite eyeliner this month. It glides on like a gel liner and won't move! With the summer heat and humidity that Florida has, this is just perfect. Maybelline has never let me down with their range of mascaras. The Mega Plush Volum Express mascara by Maybelline is being put to good use! From their range, its the one that makes my lashes thicker and I've been loving using it this month just by itself or with a bit of liner.

For the lips, I've rekindled my love for MAC's Velvet Teddy Lipstick. Its a matte, neutral color with brown with pink tones in it. Its simple and very similar to my natural lip color and stays on for a while before the need to do touch ups. I bought The Body Shop Shea Body Butter at Ulta a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it. I bought the small one because I mostly use it for my hands and carry it around in my purse but definitely buying the bigger one soon! I am absolutely in love with the smell. Lastly, Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant is probably the best purchase I've made this month. I still have no clue what is causing me to have dry patches around my nose and mouth but every night, usually before I go to sleep, I've been applying this around my lips and mouth and it's helped so much! Its still dry but its gotten a lot better now and I just love how it leaves my lips nice and moisturised! Though the smell is a little funky, it is definitely amazing.

Obsession: Cream Eyeshadows and Smokey Eyes

I can't put my finger on when, how or even why I started becoming obsessed with cream eyeshadows. Maybe because they are just so darn easy and fast to use or just because I can create a quick smokey eye makeup look with it. So why not combine the two?! I've been recreating this look for a while now, tweaking it here and there, and I'll like to share it with you lovely people what I've been doing so far this summer!

Since it's officially summer and Florida can become.... quite... hot & so freaking humid, I've stepped down to using tinted moisturizers and BB/CC creams. To start, I apply with my fingers Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer in shade 03. It adds just enough coverage for certain spots but still leaving my skin looking natural. I then use the Laura Mercier Undercover Pot in UC-2. For day time, I usually avoid using the corrector and secret camouflage and just use the translucent powder that comes with it. It's amazingly light weight and doesn't leave my face looking cakey throughout the day. For the cheeks I apply Revlon PhotoReady Cream Blush in Coral Reef with a Real Technique Stippling brush. Its a really nice reddish coral tone acts like a cream but dries as a powder. What I like about it is that its very sheer; you can apply as much as you want but it will never make you look like a clown.

For the eyes, its pretty much applying the product and blending it out. I start off with MAC's Prolong Paint Pot in Constructivist -applying it with my ring finger and blending it all over my lid and crease and on the lower lashes of my eyes. This is the perfect base; doesn't crease and lets the rest of my makeup last. I then apply really close to my top lashes Xtreme Lashes GlideLiner Long Lasting Eye Pencil in Xxpresso/145 and smug it out with either a MAC 217 or the Base Shadow Brush from Real Techniques. This eyeliner is amazing because you can use it as a liner (literally glides on your eyes- so soft!) and it dries like a gel making it smudge-proof. If you want to add a little more definition to your eyes, add a black liner really, but I mean realllllly close to the top lashes (I used Carbon Eye Shadow from MAC). What I discover is best to apply any eyeliner on the top of you lashes is to grab a mirror and look down at it; it makes applying eyeliner so precise and close to the lashes so much better than just pulling on the side of your eye. For the bottom lashes and waterline, I prefer Rimmel London Soft Kohl Kajah Eye Liner in Sable Brown. Maybelline never lets me down with any of their mascaras; I honestly love them! I'm currently using Maybelline's Volum' Express the Falsies Mascara which just extend my eyelashes and makes my eyes look bigger and fuller.

I tend to do my eyebrows last so that I can see what kind of look I'm going for; if I'm doing more of a dramatic eyes then I make sure i just fill in the gaps and keep it simple and clean. If its more of a softer look, I'm able to play them out more and make them more darker and bolder. I have the Anastasia Brow Genius Kit in Medium Brown. Comes with the waterproof gel, the compact powder and the applicator that has a spoolie and an angle brush to apply. To finish of the look, I apply a NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Sponge Cake to just add that bit of shine to the lips.

Thought this look may be a strong look for certain people, I really enjoy this look because I know it will last me for a while. No creases, no looking like a raccoon at the end of the day, nothing. Just a little touch ups on the cheeks and lips and call it a day.

New Origins GinZing Moisturzer

Origins GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturizer $26.50
Finding the right moisturizer for anyone can be tricky. For me, its been one hell of a journey. They are either too think and leave my face oily or they don't moisturize enough and leave my face dry. Origins GinZing energy boosting moisturizer is probably my favourite choice of face product for the summer. Its light-weght and oil free but it leaves my face so soft and makes my skin more radiant and glowing throughout the day. It can be used throughout the morning or at night time. What I love most about this product is the smell. Before I apply it, I usually take a good whiff of it and it makes me smile from ear to ear. It has the smell of fresh oranges with a little bit of a gin to it. AND the scent doesn't stay with you, so your not smelling like oranges all day long. It's just the perfect moisturizer for a summer day.

Have you tried any other Origin Products?! What's your favourite one?

Glossybox: May 2013!

This months Glossybox is the first time I have ever received any of their boxes (or any beauty boxes at all!). I was so excited to receive it that I actually counted down the days until it came and tracked it day by day, a bit obsessed I know. It was really excited because for this months theme was their one year of celebration here in the States!

The first item I noticed after opening the box was the Etre Belle Collagen & Aloe Vera Hydro Mask. This mask provides skin with intense moisture and it improves its elasticity. I've heard the wonders that Aloe Vera and Collagen have, so when I saw it I had to give it a go! It was absolutely amaazzzing. Put it on before I went to sleep and woke up with the most amazing skin ever. Very moisturizing and very hydrating. Only problem is that when I was looking to buy it, I could only order it if I lived in Europe :(
Full Size: $39.50 / 10 masks

There was a small sample size of the Epionce Intense Defense Anti-Aging + Repair Serum. Its a Anti-Aging serum that has multivitamins for the skin. It helps skin rejuvenation and prevent visible signs of aging. Has vitamins A, B, C, D and E. Claims to give you beautiful, radiant skin that functions at its best. Since its a really small sample, it will be hard to see results overtime but very excited to try it.
Full Size: $136.00 / 30mL

The Sebastian Professional Volupt Spray caught my attention soon after the mask. The Volupt Spray is a volume spray gel that provides the hair with volume and softness. Shake and apply on damp hair. You can blowdry for extra body or leave it to air dry to show off your waves or curls. It's freaking amazing. Pop this before blow drying your hair or on natural hair and this won't leave that sticky or hard like a regular gel would! I have fine hair and after using this, it gives my hair that extra oommf it needs for the day.
Full Size: $19.95 / 5.07 fl oz

I got two of the three samples they had for the European Wax Center. The body wash and the body lotion helps prevent ingrown hair after shaving and prevents those red bumps and blemishes. I'm definitely excited to try this out since its summer and legs are the main things to show!
Full Size: $20.00 / 8 oz

Swatched this on my hand and its really really pigmented! Xtreme Lashes GlideLiner Long Lasting Eye Pencil is kind of a mixture of an eye liner gel and an eye pencil. Looks like a pencil and dries an gel liner! States that its smudge-proof and lasts all day. I got the color Xpresso and I realized that you really didn't need much pressure to put this on. Its literally glides on your eyes making your eyelashes fuller
Full Size: $29.00 / .04 oz

The last item on the box was the Nicka K New York Absolute! perfume stick. The packaging is really nice and very eye catching. Smells absolutely amazing as well. Its perfect to carry around your purse. The scent is very subtle, like not all up in our face where your going to suffocate but also not like your not wearing any perfume at all.
Full Size: $14.99 / .29 oz

That's it for this months Glossybox. Let me know what you guys think! You can subscibe to Glossybox on their website (www.glossybox.com) for $21 per month. They ship to Ireland, UK and US.
